Installation Guide
Preparation
- New pool
After commissioning your new pool, fill it up with fresh water and in the case of concrete or tiled pools run it on liquid chlorine for about 6 weeks until the concrete/grout is sufficiently cured. The reason behind this is that during the curing period the pH on the wall of your pool will be very high, which may give rise to algae problems - Retrofit exisiting pool
If you retrofit a chlorine pool, the chlorine will have evaporated in a couple of days so you dont need to refill your pool. If retrofitting a saltwater chlorinated pool, there is no need to change over the water either. Usually there is some level of solids left over from the salt chlorination process, but the system is designed to cope with that. - Increase hardness
Add calcium to your pool until the hardness has reached 400 ppm. The best is to use calcium chloride flakes or pellets. Your local chemical wholesaler will stock this. The initial dose will be about 25 kg on a 100,000 ltr pool.
Installation
- Install control box
The control box should be installed out of direct sunlight and at a distance from the chamber as allowed by the length of the leads provided. The controlbox needs a normal 2-phase powerpoint. Hook up the box in conjunction with your pool-pump in such a way that the control box is operating when the pool pump is on. Start with 4 - 6 hours per day. - Install chamber
Cut a length out of the return pool line (2 inch) same as the length of the chamber, glue in the ends of the barrel unions and fit the chamber in the line. Connect the leads with the colourcoded connectors to the control box. If you have purchased the automated pH control unit (either CO2 or pH-control dripper) connect these add-ons to the chamber and the control box according to the instructions provided.
Set up
- Set up control box
Press BOOST. This will set the control box to ionising full time for the first days so that the required copper level can be maintained.
Please contact your dealer with any questions relating to your Barramundi Freshwater Swimming Pool system. Pool shops supplying non-Barramundi systems do not have the experience to advise you correctly.
